5 color options to improve a home’s visuals and value

Westlake 5 Color Options
June 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

By Emma Peterson.

Learn how these new options are giving customers more personalization and better performance.

The look of a house is a key form of self-expression and source of comfort — making the house’s aesthetic match a personal aesthetic makes it a home. The aesthetic also changes the curb value of the home and can impact the houses around it as well. In this episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Heidi J. Ellsworth got the scoop on 5 newly available visual profiles from Robin Anderson.

Robin is the technical and strategy development manager at Westlake Royal Roofing Solutions. He explained his role, “I get to watch over our product to make sure that what we make, we can sell. So, whether that's through code compliancy or quality control, I manage that.” He was excited to introduce five of Westlake’s color profiles for stone-coated steel and what they can do for your next project.

1 – Dover

This is a classic cool white and one of Westlake’s highest performing cool colors. Robin explained, “the number one area that it sells in is South Florida.” This color comes with the added benefit of heat reflectivity, which helps with energy efficiency in hot and sunny places, like Florida.

2 – Harbor Wood

Robin described this shade, “It's light, but it's a light brown color.” Even moving into a darker shade of color, Westlake has made it a priority to get high SRI values in order to give homeowners some of the benefits of a reflective roof, along with the aesthetics of a brown cedar shake.

3 – Sterling

Then, they have created a cool grey option for those looking for something between black and white for their roof. This is a silvery gray that is known for pairing well with a wide variety of other shades and colors.

4 – Spanish Red

This gives the aesthetic of a concrete tile without the aggressive and time-consuming upkeep that those materials need. The deep red of this material speaks to the classic styles of Spanish architecture.

5 – Sunset Gold

Last but not least, Robin brought up their Sunset Gold color. He explained, “This is a nice orange tan color to try to hit on those same Southwest traditional clay and concrete tile colors.”
