Angel Arroyo: The best of the best in roofing and in life

Roofing Alliance - Angel Arroyo

By Heidi J. Ellsworth.

Hear how this year's Best of the Best recipient is an asset to his company and a respected leader and mentor across the industry.

The Roofing Alliance’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards are among the most prestigious honors in the roofing industry. Each year these awards recognize roofing professionals who lead with integrity, dedication and compassion both on the job and in their communities.

One MVP winner is selected as Professional Roofing magazine’s Best of the Best. This elite honor is co-sponsored by Professional Roofing and OMG Roofing Products Inc. and highlights the nominee who excels in both categories of the MVP program. The winner receives special recognition and is featured in Professional Roofing magazine.

Angel Arroyo, a superintendent for Raincoat Roofing Systems Inc., Broadview, Illinois, has nearly four decades in the roofing industry, was named 2025 Best of the Best for good reasons. Angel has built a reputation rooted in knowledge, work ethic and generosity. He is not only an asset to his company but a respected leader and mentor across the industry.

Colleagues describe Angel as a living encyclopedia of roofing. One teammate said, “He has more information and know-how than anybody I’ve ever met.” Angel is more than a superintendent. He is a teacher, a mentor and a trusted voice on the job. His ability to explain complex problems and manage demanding projects has helped shape countless careers.

Whether overseeing a high-rise installation or coordinating a logistically challenging job site, Angel’s steady leadership brings confidence to every crew. “He’s able to accomplish what most people would see as very difficult jobs,” his coworkers agreed.

At home Angel is just as remarkable. He is known as a devoted father and husband who puts his family first. His children describe him as supportive, emotionally present and always ready to help with important decisions or lend a comforting word. Angel’s family speaks of his calm strength and how he creates joy in their lives. His leadership is not confined to the workplace. It’s evident in every part of his life.

Even small moments reveal his pride in the work he does. Driving through town Angel points to rooftops and says, “We did that one,” or, “I worked on that roof.” To him every project is more than a job. It is a legacy of craftsmanship, teamwork and community impact.

What sets Angel apart is his willingness to help. He is always the first to arrive and the last to leave. He lends a hand without hesitation and offers support wherever it is needed. “He helps people inside and outside the company,” a coworker said. “He’s always there if you need guidance or just someone to talk to.”

Angel is more than a great roofer. He is a great human being. His humility, leadership and dedication leave a lasting impression on everyone he meets. As a professional, a mentor and a family man he truly is the best of the best.

If someone like Angel is part of your team now is the time to honor them. The 2025-2026 Roofing Alliance MVP Awards are open for nominations. Outstanding Performance and Leadership recognizes employees with a strong work ethic, safety focus, initiative and the ability to inspire others. Outstanding Community Involvement honors those who dedicate their time and energy to improving their communities through service and compassion.

Applications are now open. Submit your nomination by Friday September 5, 2025. Visit the Roofing Alliance MVP page for more information.
