Color me Impressed! Stay Ahead of the Trends With This Color Forecast

Sherwin-Williams Color Me Impressed
August 1, 2023 at 6:00 a.m.

By Adam Cabrera.

Color is more than just the finishing touch, it’s a tool that contractors can utilize for their marketing and sales programs.

In a recent RLW hosted by Karen Edwards from RoofersCoffeeShop®, Kiki Redhead and Brynn Wildenauer of Sherwin-Williams explained the significance of the Architectural FUSE Color Forecast in helping contractors stay ahead of trends.

"This is a tool that we've created to have a conversation with our customers about where colors have been, where colors are now, and where color is going to be going for the future," shared Kiki, who brings over 20 years of experience in color design and development to the table.

The FUSE Color Forecast, an analysis of the architectural metal coil and extrusion marketplace, not only identifies major trends in the industry but also breaks things down to smaller levels to identify specific consumer demands. The insights drawn from these trends help contractors and architects to stay ahead of the curve and provide their clients with the latest finishes, colors and coatings technologies.

Brynn, an industrial design expert, elaborated on the application of the forecast: "We focus on what the customer's needs are and how they could use the information for the forecast within their own product lines and help them develop the new coatings if the development is needed there."

However, the forecast is not as simple as identifying a few popular colors but is backed by hard data. As Kiki explained, "We don't sit in a vacuum with a dartboard on the wall with color swatches all over... We want to make sure that we're validating all of our predictions with not only the sales data, but also data on information of even just what color swatches, what panels our customers are ordering."

As contractors navigate the world of architectural trends, the Architectural FUSE Color Forecast serves as a reliable guide, ensuring they remain competitive and continue to provide the best for their customers.

Listen to the RLW to learn more about color trends and other insights the forecast has to offer.
