Designing moisture out of controlled environments

An upcoming IIBEC webinar will examine moisture-related failures and practical strategies for designing, detailing and installing roofing assemblies in controlled-environment facilities.

Moisture and condensation can create significant problems in controlled-environment facilities, including cold-storage buildings, data centers, indoor water parks and laundry facilities. On August 26, 2026, the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) will host a live webinar focused on understanding these risks and preventing moisture damage through effective design and detailing. 

The 90-minute program, “Moisture Management in Controlled-Storage Environment Facilities,” will begin at 12:00 p.m. Eastern time. During the session, attendees will learn:

• How different controlled-environment facilities operate
• Which facility features can influence moisture movement and condensation
• Methods for identifying moisture sources and eliminating condensation
• Best practices when detailing and installing roofing assemblies
• Approaches for investigating moisture-related problems
• How to communicate findings to building owners and other project stakeholders

Samir Ibrahim, F-IIBEC, AIA and CSI, will lead the educational program with Tiffany Coppock, AIA, NCARB, CSI, CDT, LEED AP, ASTM, RCI and EDAC, as moderator. The webinar has been approved for 1.5 IIBEC continuing education hours and 1.5 American Institute of Architects Learning Units with Health, Safety and Welfare credit.
