For over 15 years, AVA Roofing & Siding has been offering roofing and siding services to homeowners in New York. But back in 2018, the contracting company decided to improve the way they do business by upgrading their processes with one piece of equipment.
The company purchased their first Equipter. After experiencing the power and versatility of this multifunctional machine for just a few months, they bought a second Equipter.
For AVA Roofing & Siding, the Equipter reduces stress on the crews, decreases cleanup time on every job and helps complete each job more efficiently.
Serg, AVA Roofing Project Manager, says, “Everything’s just a lot faster when you have the Equipter around.”
The managers at AVA Roofing & Siding aim to make their employees’ jobs easier, and they do that by ensuring their crews have easy access to the Equipter.
Serg says, “We want to make sure [their job] is not putting too much stress on them, and...the Equipter definitely helps us with that. We try to use it for everything we do in the roofing business. We use it for roofing, for siding–anything we can use it for, we’ll bring it out.”
By using the Equipter for nearly every project, AVA Roofing is reaching their goal of lowering employee stress and making their jobs easier.
The Equipter also saves time for the AVA Roofing & Siding team by helping them streamline cleanup while they’re replacing siding. Instead of wrestling with piles of old siding on the lawn and taking them to a dumpster at the end of the day, the crew tosses the old siding and debris into the 4.1 cubic-yard dump container and drives it to an on-site dumpster just a few times a day. That means end-of-day cleanup only involves putting tools away and everyone gets to go home earlier.
“Two guys [cleaning] up would take two or three hours, or maybe a little more, depend[ing] on how much garbage is on the ground. But with the Equipter, we pull it up...and just toss it all in there...Detail work is the only thing that’s left after we’re done with it.”
The easy-to-use control panel makes the Equipter operable by just one person. At six feet wide with a tight turning radius thanks to its narrow front tires, the unit can easily squeeze into places where standard dumpsters can’t. No dragging a dump truck around the site hoping it doesn’t leave ruts in customers’ lawns.
“The best part about it, you can just drive it yourself...We can go anywhere with it,” Serg says. “If you’re thinking about buying the Equipter, I would definitely recommend it. It’ll save you a lot of time. Everything’ll go smoother. We get jobs done quicker and a lot more money in our pockets.”
