Merit Building Systems LLC Achieves AC478 Accreditation
December 19, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.

Pursuing AC478 accreditation was a natural step for Merit Building Systems - one that reflects our long-standing commitment to doing things the right way.

The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) announces that Merit Building Systems LLC headquartered in Daphne, Alabama and servicing the Southeast and more, now holds the prestigious AC478 accreditation administered by the International Accreditation Service (IAS). AC478, Accreditation for Metal Building Assemblers Inspection, is a standard to recognize metal building assemblers committed to excellence.

Achieving this accreditation demonstrates that Merit Building Systems LLC has the personnel, the organizational skills, vast experience, knowledge, management procedures and commitment to assemble metal buildings in accordance with code, specifications, costs and deadlines.  Requirements for this accreditation include documented management systems, rigorous safety training, quality managers, OSHA training, documented safety plans, site-specific plans and other documentation.

“As your commitment to enduring relationships built on trust and collaboration, delivering exceptional value and the unwavering pursuit of excellence align with our mission, we welcome and congratulate you as the latest AC478 accredited member,” remarks Robert Tiffin, MBCEA president.

Pursuing AC478 accreditation was a natural step for Merit Building Systems - one that reflects our long-standing commitment to doing things the right way. Our team has built a reputation on safe practices, disciplined processes and the highest standards in the industry. Earning this accreditation reinforces the systems we already have in place and showcases the level of professionalism our clients expect from us.

“As our company continues to grow, it’s important that our dedication to quality, safety and consistency grows with it,” said Scott Fitzpatrick, chief revenue officer. “AC478 gives our clients clear, third-party validation that Merit operates with a level of rigor that matches our word. It demonstrates that our crews are trained, our procedures are strong and our commitment to excellence is measurable - not just promised.”

Fitzpatrick continued, “Our clients trust us with critical components of their projects, and this accreditation only strengthens that trust. It reflects who we are as a company: a team of builders who take pride in our company, stand behind our work and deliver results that hold up to the highest standards in our industry.”
