Leadership opportunities offer roofing professionals a chance to shape the association's future.

For roofing professionals looking to take a more active role in shaping the future of the industry, National Women in Roofing (NWIR) is offering several leadership opportunities through its BOOTS program, which stands for Building Our Organization Through Service.

As a volunteer-driven association dedicated to advancing and supporting women in roofing, NWIR depends on members who are willing to share their time, expertise and perspectives. The BOOTS program helps members become more involved in the organization while creating a pathway to serve in leadership roles, including positions on the NWIR Board of Directors.

Following recent governance updates designed to strengthen the association and expand opportunities for member engagement, NWIR is now accepting applications for several board positions for the 2026-2027 term. Open roles include executive committee secretary, Hispanic community liaison, industry alliances chair-elect and an industry-at-large position.

The executive committee secretary role serves as the first step in NWIR's leadership succession process. The position includes a five-year commitment that culminates in service as board chair. Other roles offer opportunities to help guide strategic initiatives, strengthen industry relationships and ensure members' voices are represented as the organization continues to grow.

One key opening is the Hispanic community liaison position, which helps ensure the perspectives and contributions of Hispanic roofing professionals are represented within the organization. NWIR is also seeking an industry alliances chair-elect, a role focused on building and maintaining relationships with organizations that support NWIR's mission both within and beyond the roofing industry.

Serving in a volunteer leadership role offers benefits that extend beyond professional recognition. Board members and committee leaders have the opportunity to influence industry initiatives, expand their professional networks, develop leadership skills and support programs that help recruit, educate and mentor the next generation of roofing professionals.

In addition to board positions, NWIR is also accepting applications for committee chair-elect roles. Under the organization's updated governance structure, these leaders work alongside committee chairs and often move into future positions that include voting seats on the board. The approach helps create a strong pipeline of engaged leaders dedicated to NWIR's long-term success.

Applications for these leadership opportunities are open now through November 15, 2026. Whether you want to expand your industry impact, advocate for important initiatives or help create opportunities for others, the BOOTS program offers a meaningful way to get involved and serve the roofing community.

Interested professionals can learn more about the available positions and submit an application through NWIR's Board Volunteer Opportunities page before the November 15 deadline.
