By Rocky Mountain Snow Guards.
Known for handling extensive Colorado residential and commercial roofing projects, Home Grown Roofing and Contracting stands out in the marketplace. Offering dozens of specialty roofing services, the Conifer-based company is led by Adrian Oliver, owner. This year’s Grand Prize award winner in the residential category in the 2025 “Show Us Our Snow Guards” Contest sponsored by Rocky Mountain Snow Guards, Home Grown Roofing and Contracting is a roofer to watch and learn from in our industry.
How long have you been in the roofing industry and how did you get started?
All of my life. I grew up in a family roofing business and started working on job sites at 14 years old. In other words, "I'm born-to-be-a-roofer" and I mean, "ROOFER" … not just a business owner or a sales guy.
Tell us about the geography you install roofing in and what kind of snow retention systems are needed for your customers.
We install roofs in one of the harshest environments in North America, the Colorado Rockies. In the mountains there are heavy snow loads and various types of roofs and construction. No two roofs are the same. At Home Grown Roofing and Contracting, we are experts in ALL roofing types and prescribe all different types of snow guards as needed.
What type of roofing material do you tend to install most, and what’s your favorite “go to” snow retention product that you use repeatedly with that material?
The type of roofs that we install the most that require snow guards, are standing seam metal roofs. Our “go to” snow blocks for standing seam metal roofs are the S-5®! snow bars, seam clamps and snow clips.
What’s the most interesting roofing project you’ve ever done where a snow retention system was involved?
Along with the Timbertrail Road project that won us the 2025 “Show Us Our Snow Guards” Contest Grand Prize, I think the Calfee Gulch Road project we completed in Conifer was our most interesting project. This is a special-order 1.5” snap lock standing seam color that we used a matching ColorGard system with S-5®! S clamps and SnoClip™ IIs.
How often do you use the free snow retention plan services from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards when you’re working on a roofing project?
We use this service almost every time for our projects. I trust Rocky Mountain Snow Guards’ knowledge and experience with snow retention systems.
What keeps your company coming back to Rocky Mountain Snow Guards for your snow retention needs?
They are local and we like partnering with other local businesses. We are also big believers in using specialized experts and we're happy to have someone on our team that specializes in snow guards.
