The right tool for the job

Malco The right tool for the job
November 6, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.

By Emma Peterson.

Learn why it is so important to use high-quality tools like Malco's products!

In a recent MetalTalk webinar, Karen Edwards sat down with Rebecca Talbot of Malco Tools. Rebecca has worked at Malco for a little over a year and is their VP of marketing. She explained the importance of tools when it comes to the end result of the job, simply stating, “Choosing the right tools for the job is key. It could lead to tool breakage if you're using something incorrectly for the wrong kind of size or the wrong application and it could affect the quality of your work.”

Not only is tool breakage inconvenient and slows you down on the job site, it also costs you more money in the long run. Rebecca explained, “If you're looking to get the highest use value out of a tool, making sure that you have the right tool for the job and also being conscientious of the quality of the tool that you're picking is key.”

Furthermore, using the incorrect tools can create safety issues on the job site. These safety issues can be everything from singular events, like a tool slipping while working, to repetitive issues, like wrist damage from poor ergonomics. Malco’s mission, which is summed up in their tagline “work, perform, outlast,” focuses on educating professionals in the field about these risks and providing high-quality alternatives that make their work more sustainable and higher quality. Rebecca explained, “We're trying to make sure these tools are developed so you have the right tools for the job, but also understanding that sometimes the right tool might be the closest tool to you...”

This realization is one of the things that drives Malco’s trademark innovation. Rebecca explained, “Hex drivers are at the core of a lot of what Malco's business is. Many of you are very familiar with the cleanable, reversible flippable sockets and Malco really was the innovator with that technology.” These tools are very portable and efficient, allowing contractors to get two sockets on the same driver shaft with the reversable, magnet technology that makes the tools incredibly helpful to contractors on the job.
