We always love highlighting the great work the National Women in Roofing (NWIR) does for the community. One of our most popular articles from July was a piece by our Senior Writer Dani Sheehan about their work on She Build Day in Seattle. The organization teamed up with members of the roofing industry to gift a new roof to a local elderly woman, at no cost to her. Despite the rain on the day of the build, the project went off without a hitch and the homeowner was very happy with her much-needed, new roof.
Another article that our readers loved last month was a project profile of a re-roofing job in Cheyenne, Colorado. The Flying J Travel Center needed a new roof, complete with a solid snow retention system. The profile details how 911 Roofing Solutions decided to use products from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards and S-5!® to reduce the risk of rooftop avalanches. The end result was a beautiful standing seam metal roof that’s well equipped for whatever the winter brings.
Our most-read article from last month was a piece by our Editor, Lauren White, who highlighted the recent SkillsUSA 2024 student competition! There, the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) had built The Roofing Pavilion, a two-story booth that offered hands-on training to attendees. Lauren describes her experience at the event, saying that many students were interested in learning more about our amazing industry.
