Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals (VARP)

Founded in 1967, the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals (VARP) is the trade organization for roofing and related professionals in Virginia. VARP’s mission is to promote the roofing industry in the Commonwealth of Virginia through education and advocacy and to promote high business and ethical standards. VARP is a non-partisan, non-profit organization supported by voluntary membership dues with a broad-based membership including over 130 professional roofing companies.


VARP is pleased to announce the Summer Convention Special Guest Speaker: Lisa Sprick

Lisa Sprick is president of Sprick Roofing Co. Inc., Corvallis, Oregon, a family-owned business established in 1952 that she joined in 1990. The company installs low- and steep-slope roof systems on commercial and residential buildings.

An active NRCA member since 1996, Sprick’s service to the association has included serving two terms on the Executive Committee and three terms on the board of directors. She has chaired numerous NRCA committees, including Career Path, Enterprise Risk Management, Executive Management Institute, Future Executives Institute, the Insurance Board of Governors, NRCA University, Residential Contractor Management, Steep Slope Technical and Workforce Solutions.

Sprick also has served on several task forces, including Asphalt Shingle Repair Manual, OSHA Residential Fall Protection and Strategic Plan Review, and she has testified before Congress on behalf of the roofing industry’s interests.

Sprick has facilitated and presented at a variety of conferences during the past 25 years covering business management, technical roofing installations and safety topics. Workforce Development

VARP is committed to promoting the value and opportunities of a career in the roofing industry.   Our Workforce Development Committee is focused on promoting roofing careers to high school students, building alliances with individual and partner organizations to grow and strengthen the roofing workforce, and aiding in the development of a skilled workforce by promoting, facilitating, and partnering for the delivery of education and training.

Who is eligible for membership?

Roofing Professionals

Contractors, Suppliers, Manufacturers & Reps, Engineers, Consultants, or anyone that manufactures and/or sells roofing and waterproofing products and/or services shall be eligible for membership upon application submission and payment of dues as provided in the By-Laws.

Industry Associates

Any person, firm or corporation not otherwise eligible for membership as a Roofing Professional shall be eligible for Associate membership, with no voting privileges. They can become eligible for membership upon written application submission and payment of dues.

Become A VARP Accredited Contractor 

The Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals, Inc. (VARP) is proud to offer the designation of VARP Accredited Roofing Contractor*. If a contractor has received the designation of VARP Accredited Roofing Contractor, it means that VARP has determined that the contractor meets accreditation standards that include a commitment to standards of honest and fair dealing, excellence, continuing education and safety.

Contracting companies based in Virginia that meet the following standards and complete all application requirements will be accredited as a VARP Accredited Roofing Contractor by the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals. To be accredited by VARP as a VARP Accredited Roofing Contractor, an applicant must abide by the following standards of the Better Business Bureau:

  • Build Trust: Establish and maintain a positive track record in the marketplace.
  • Advertise Honestly: Adhere to established standards of advertising and selling.
  • Tell the Truth: Honestly represent products and services, including clear and adequate disclosures of all material terms.
  • Safeguard Privacy: Protect any data collected against mishandling and fraud, collect personal information only as needed, and respect the preferences of customers regarding the use of this information.
  • Be Transparent: Openly identify the nature, location and ownership of the business, and clearly disclose all policies, guarantees and procedures that bear on a customer’s decision to buy.
  • Honor Promises: Abide by all written agreements and verbal representations.
  • Be Responsive: Address marketplace disputes quickly, professionally and in good faith.
  • Embody Integrity: Approach all business dealings, marketplace transactions and commitments with integrity.
