Fall-protection Trainer Course for Roofing

Falls remain the leading cause of death and injury in the roofing industry, accounting for at least one-third of all construction fatalities. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Subpart M requires that workers receive fall-protection training from a competent person. Is your company prepared to meet this standard?

NRCA’s advanced two-day fall-protection trainer course is designed for roofing professionals responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining their company’s fall-protection program. Through an immersive learning experience with an emphasis on practical skills, this course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to teach fall protection effectively and enhance job-site safety. This course provides in-depth instruction regarding:

• The role and responsibilities of the competent person for fall protection
• Hazard recognition and application of fall-protection knowledge to proactively prevent falls from heights
• Managing fall-protection systems and ensuring compliance with fall-protection standards, including OSHA and ANSI
• Adult training techniques and using turnkey training materials to educate roofing workers regarding fall prevention

This course, when combined with the eight-hour Advanced Fall Protection Strategies for Roofing Professionals, will satisfy the USACE 24-hour training requirement to be designated a competent person.
