They look forward to getting new shoes!  It's just a little perk, but they are over $100 a pair so it helps on their pocket book too!  We think it is a safety item for them and we want to keep them safe!  Your feet and shoes are an important part of keeping the rest of your body healthy!

1. Health and social security contributions
Most employers don't consider social security and medical contributions an employee benefit, but they are. These are long-term benefits that both workers and employers pay, with knowledge workers will have access to in the future.

2. Workers' Compensation Insurance
Workers' compensation insurance is a form of insurance authorized by the United States Department of Labor for employees who become ill or injured at work. It provides employees with additional income and medical benefits that they no longer receive due to their disability.

3. Minimum wage and overtime pay
As of July 2009, the federal minimum wage is set at $7.25 per hour. As an employer, you must pay employees the federal minimum wage with some exceptions to this rule for employees who work for tips. Your local state law may have higher minimum requirements than those set at the federal level.

Most federal and state laws set the hourly requirement threshold at 40 hours per workweek. Federal overtime law requires employers to pay employees more than their usual rate of pay for hours worked in excess of their normal claim threshold.

As with minimum wage laws, there are exceptions based on employee type and state law. Each case is unique and you should consult your state and local laws for more information on what you must provide your employees.

4. Unemployment compensation contributions
Employers must pay unemployment insurance for all employees, regardless of whether they work full-time or part-time.

A combination of taxes at both the state and federal levels requires employers to pay into the Unemployment Trust Fund, in which eligible employees are paid if they qualify for unemployment.

5. Mandatory employee benefits for employers with more than 50 full-time employees
Depending on the size of your company, you may have additional requirements regarding what employee benefits you must offer your employees.
