Don’t miss this chance to enter your best work for the NFBA Building of the Year Awards.

The National Frame Building Association (NFBA) is calling all its members to submit their best work for the 2025 Building of the Year Awards contest. The NFBA Building of the Year Awards celebrates excellence across 30 categories, from commercial and residential projects to a newly added category: barndominiums!

Any building designed and erected by a NFBA member builder that utilizes post-frame construction in a minimum of 50% of the building structure is eligible to win. A post-frame building is characterized by wide column spacing with rafters or trusses that create the distinct "post frame" look. Buildings must have been completed during December 1, 2023 - November 30, 2025. Entry fees are $100 per building, and all entries must be received electronically or via mail on or before December 1, 2025.

Along with the new category, this year, the builder size divisions are updated to allow you to compete with businesses of similar volume. The “premier” group earns $0-3 million; “experts” between $3-6 million; and “masters” over $6 million. Transparent criteria is available through a judging rubric and the submission process has been streamlined to make it easier for entries to be submitted directly through the NFBA Member Portal.

Winners will be honored at the NFBA Conference & Expo which takes place February 25-27, 2026, in Oklahoma City. Winners will receive two complimentary tickets to the Awards Luncheon, where all winners will be announced. All entries will be considered for the prestigious Judges’ Award given to one exceptional entry that the judges believe deserves special recognition.

The winning company will be featured in NFBA publications, their project will be displayed on the Expo show floor and they will receive an honorary plaque recognizing their craftmanship.

If you’re not yet an NFBA member, it’s not too late to join and participate in this year’s competition! Contact jwhite@nfba.org for more information.

Submit your entry online  or learn more about the contest rules, instructions and scoring criteria.
