In a conversation with Progressive Material’s Director of Technical Services, Jay Mitchell, live from the trade show floor at this year’s International Roofing Expo (IRE), Megan Ellsworth got the latest updates on the company’s current projects and their latest launch. Introducing the AC 1200, a pro-hydro all-purpose acrylic roof coating, the brand was excited to make the product’s official debut on the IRE show floor.
“This [acrylic] has been in the making for about a year now,” Jay shared. “Now, we’re trying to gain some market share and show it off.” At the Progressive Materials booth, IRE attendees were about to get an up-close and personal look at the product line, as well as the opportunity to watch life demonstrations of the product in action.
Coming from their team of expert engineers and top of the line technologies, the new acrylic has certainly been a labor of love built from a desire to offer the industry a superior product. “Our experts came up with an acrylic with a premium polymer chain, with great elongation and tensile strength. It truly has all of the tech specs you could want,” he added.
In their conversation, Jay explained that as of now, there are currently roofs out there using the acrylic coating and are in the testing phase, and the results are promising. He shared, “With the testing phase, everything is coming back good, and we’re getting credentials. So, we’re full-blown ready to rock and roll.”
The product received an overwhelmingly positive response and interest from trade show attendees, checking out the demonstrations and metal samples on display at their booth.
The coating’s new resin formula is a great addition to the market, offering users with a reliable product capable of adhering to nearly every substrate, excellent dirt pick up resistance and a decreased chalk-off rate - features that make it a must-have for any contractor looking for a reliable coating product.
“If you’re a tech nerd, consider visiting the website and checking out the resources tab,” Jay added. “It has everything you’d need to know – from technical data sheets and safety data sheets to spray guides – it has it all.”
