Did you know that Sherwin-Williams only has one approved metal cleaning product on the market besides soap and water? In this recent MetalCast™ episode, Karen Edwards sits down with Paul Watts of Watts Removal Products to discuss this Sherwin-Williams approved line of cleaning products. For times when water isn’t enough, learn how to keep your metal clean, the benefits of these products and why you should incorporate them into your business.
What started as a solution to remove graffiti has now become the only product warrantied by Sherwin-Williams on a global specification to remove any type of paint or marking from metal. Even though most of his customers call his products magic, Paul says it comes down to chemistry that’s proven in real situations. He explains, “I’m a painting contractor myself. I have been for 25 years. We’ve been in the field, we’re blue-collar guys. My people are out in the field all the time doing work. We’re painters, we’re maintenance guys, we’re builders out there. We know the trades; we know these problems that occur. We’re not sitting in a lab making up problems. We know what’s happening on site.”
We all know that metal roofs require little maintenance, but there are still certain specifications to keeping a metal roof clean. Watts Removal Products aren’t just for cleaning up last-minute mistakes but can help with this maintenance. Paul shares, “I just had a homeowner's association in Florida call me about 38 to 40 homes in their HOA, and they have some palm trees and some other trees in the neighborhood contributing to some growth on their metal roofs. They’re like, ‘What do we do? How do we clean them?’ You clean them with Watts without voiding any of those warranties.”
To make it even easier, each cleaning product comes with a unique QR code that a contractor can scan that goes directly to an instructional video to show how to use the product. Whether you need to fix an oopsie on the jobsite or help a homeowner with yearly maintenance, Watts Removal Products are meant to set you up for success.
