Sherwin-Williams is rolling out the latest updates to its Roofing Passport tool, giving contractors a cleaner, more intuitive experience. While the core functionality remains the same, the refreshed platform improves usability and efficiency, making it even easier for contractors to generate accurate reports and spend less time on the roof.
“Even if a year goes by, the interface could potentially seem outdated,” Junny Lee, marketing segment manager for Sherwin-Williams' MetalVue program shares. “So, how do we stay on top of things? The goal is always to create new experiences for our users. We are really focused on continuous improvement and making sure that folks enjoy using the Roofing Passport tool.”
While Roofing Passport still looks familiar to users, the Sherwin-Williams team has been working behind the scenes to modernize the platform. Recent updates include a cleaner dashboard with drop-down menus replacing scattered icons, making navigation more intuitive.
“These little details show that we look at the enhancement side of things, like new components of Roofing Passport, but we’re also looking at the minor details,” explains Junny. “It’s a very cross-functional effort between our design folks and then our development team.”
By focusing on both big-picture enhancements and small usability tweaks, Roofing Passport ensures contractors can access the information they need without frustration or wasted time.
At its core, Roofing Passport is designed to help contractors spend less time on the roof and more time building their business. Users can generate accurate roofing bids quickly, with results delivered in a convenient CSV format. Contractors can gather measurements in three ways:
By combining these capabilities with Sherwin-Williams' network of metal suppliers and producers, Roofing Passport simplifies estimating and ordering from start to finish.
Roofing Passport is just one part of the broader MetalVue program, designed to give contractors a comprehensive suite of tools, resources and partnerships. Sherwin-Williams has carefully vetted partners that deliver value in areas such as customer relationship management, networking and even approved cleaning products for Sherwin-Williams coil coatings.
Junny compares the program to the Microsoft Office suite: “If Roofing Passport is Excel, all the other partners represent Word, PowerPoint, Visio, whatever it may be. You may not need all the services, you might just need one or two of them, but they’re all at the contractor’s disposal for use.”
