For over three decades, Rich Harshaw has helped contractors level up their marketing game and grow their businesses with Level 10 Contractor. As the company's founder and CEO, Rich has built a company rooted in integrity and excellence.
“Level 10 Contractor is a nod to the idea that we like to work with contractors that are on the higher end of the excellence spectrum,” Rich shared in a recent MetalCast™ episode. “Companies that are really endeavoring to do right by their clients. They don’t have to be huge companies, but they should at least be doing the right things.”
Rich began his marketing career in the early 1990s, working with a wide range of clients from manufacturing to financial services before finding his niche in home improvement. A pivotal moment came in 1996 when he partnered with Lon Smith Roofing, then one of the largest residential roofing companies in the industry. “They came to me with a real problem,” he recalled. “We had a really good experience with them and developed a lot of really cool stuff for the roofing company.” That experience began a long-term investment in contractor marketing.
By the mid-2000s, Rich was fully focused on the trades. After attending a seminar hosted by industry leader Tim Musch, Rich realized the potential to bring modern marketing practices to contractors. "The dentists have their marketing people, and the insurance folks have their marketing people. Maybe that could be me,” Rich said. “So, I spent the last 20 years trying to become the marketing guru for contractors.”
Since then, Rich has become a leading voice in marketing throughout the trades, helping contractors implement proven strategies to generate 200-500 leads every month. And he’s not stopping there.
After speaking at several conferences across the country, Rich decided to hold one of his own. This past September, Rich launched Operation Lead Surge, a two-day, intimate marketing workshop. “It's going to walk through this whole Level 10 Contractor marketing system, soup to nuts,” Rich shared. “Here's everything you need to know. Then, there is a 12-month follow up via Zoom to aid with implementation. It’s more of a training than a seminar."
