Metal and Mimosas – Celebrating the Inspirational Women of Metal!

In a recent episode of the MetalCast podcast, host Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Judy Geller of METALCON to talk about the upcoming 2023 Expo and the exciting things attendees can expect to experience at the event! The two also shared their insights about the special event taking place at the expo, the Women in Metal Construction breakfast – Metal and Mimosas!  

Since 1991, METALCON has been the largest and only trade show to showcase the metal industry, metal construction and metal design. METALCON is the best place to take part in educational opportunities, visit interactive exhibits, listen to inspirational speakers and super sessions and network with fellow metal professionals!  

Don’t miss the very special event, Metal and Mimosas, which is a breakfast event for female presenting metal professionals to get together and have fun! After Heidi, Judy and LeeAnn Slattery from ATAS sat down to discuss how women in metal deserve to have a dedicated space and event at the expo, they came up with this special breakfast event to honor the powerful and strong women who are leading the metal industry.  

Judy explained why the creation of this special event was important, “The power of conversation is just amazing. I mean, we'd been toying around with the idea of doing something for women at METALCON really since I came on board. This is the year we're finally doing it and the timing is right. The brainchild, thanks to [Heidi], LeeAnn, and the support of some amazing sponsors, is Metal and Mimosas. We're doing it before the show floor opens on Wednesday, October 18 and it starts at 8:00 in the morning.” 

Since this is the first-annual production of the event, you won’t want to miss it! Judy continued, “It's an opportunity for the women in the industry to come just right across the street to the Renaissance Hotel. We're going to have breakfast, mimosas, education, networking and it's just going to be really fun. METALCON is a perfect place to bring together all of the associations and all of the events. We're on neutral ground and we're all there. It's going to be really fun.”
