Metal by the lake
October 6, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.Contemporary metal design meets nature in this Arkansas lakeside getaway.
Nestled among the natural forest and lakeshore of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, sits Red Fox Lake House; a gorgeously designed modern marvel that complements the organic world around it. Completed in 2023, this residential project, completed by Dickie Birdsong, contractor, features metal panels from McElroy Metal. The brand covered the project in an insightful project profile.
The details
With a tight budget in mind, the design team approached the project with durability and economics in mind. This led to the use of McElroy's Multi-Cor Panels, which are designed to provide a durable, yet budget-friendly solution. The panels were the ideal choice for a residential build nestled among the forest in a location known for its humid climate.
David Sweere, project architect, shared, “The goal was to create something that felt connected to the region's architectural language while working within a defined budget.” Further, not only were the panels a good fit for the job durability-wise, but the color selections of Autumn Red and Galvalume allowed the building to blend among the foliage of the surrounding area rather perfectly, rather than standing out unnaturally.
The Multi-Cor Panels were an ideal choice for their easy installation, too. As David noted, the McElroy Metal team ensured that the panels were utilized in the best way, each step of the way. He shared, “The support in developing custom profiles and installation details helped ensure the design translated effectively in the field.”
