The Coffee Shops™ welcome the Association of Women in the Metal Industries (AWMI)!

The Association of Women in the Metal Industries (AWMI) believes that women in similar industries can benefit themselves and their companies through relationships, education and shared knowledge. 

The Coffee Shops™, the award-winning online communities where the industries meet for technologies, safety, information and education for the construction trades of roofing, metal, coatings and outdoor living are pleased to welcome the Association of Women in the Metal Industries (AWMI) into their community.  

Founded in 1981, AWMI is an international professional organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the advancement of women in the metal industries. With 21 active chapters in the United States and Canada, AWMI serves 1,800+  members across North America and 90+ corporate members. Their programs and events are designed to enhance members’ skills and experiences; address the challenges women face in the industry; and promote members’ career growth in hopes of increasing the total number of women working in the metal industry.  

Members receive many benefits, including: 

  • Networking opportunities at trade shows and conferences, including the AWMI Annual Conference 
  • Events for continuous learning, including meeting speakers, workshops, conferences, trainings and programs 
  • Strategic marketing opportunities through newsletters, chapter events, trade shows and the AWMI Annual Conference 
  • The MENTOR Program, designed to connect AWMI members with experienced industry leaders, providing guidance, knowledge-sharing and career growth opportunities. Members can seek guidance as a mentee or give back as a mentor or both through short- and long-term approaches 
  • Scholarships programs for continuing education courses, professional development seminars and educational materials 
  • Access to metal manufacturing facilities through exclusive AWMI tours 
  • Job listings through the AWMI Job Bank 
  • Leadership opportunities through service on chapter, regional and international boards
