The ultimate metal roofing guide for homeowners
November 19, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

By Jessica Bravo.

Insights from the latest MetalCast episode where the experts discuss an essential homeowner resource.

In the new MetalCast™ episode, Karen Edwards sits down with Renee Ramey, executive director of the Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA), to discuss the organization’s comprehensive guidebooks. These guidebooks serve as a valuable resource for homeowners looking to invest in metal roofing solutions for their properties.

As metal roofing continues to gain popularity, the MRA aims to educate homeowners on the benefits of metal roofing materials. Renee explains, “Our goal is to provide[homeowners] with as much information as possible, dispelling myths, giving them third-party resources and everything that they need to learn more about metal roofing.” With many homes requiring new roofs each year, these guides could help homeowners make informed decisions about their roofing projects.

Their guidebook titled “Residential Roofing Basics Guide for Metal” offers readers basic knowledge about metal roofing, making it especially useful for those considering metal for the first time.  Renee shares that the guide covers a variety of important topics, from the various steps that make up a metal roof installation to the importance of each panel or material type to the final product.

For homeowners, the guide serves as an all-in-one resource for metal roofing basics. A well-informed homeowner can achieve better outcomes during roofing projects. Renee notes that the guide helps homeowners consider essential questions: “What's the shape of your roof? Are you dealing with gables? Are you dealing with a lot of valleys, a lot of different angles coming together?" As she calls it, the guide is the perfect “cheat sheet” homeowners won’t want to miss out on checking out.
