Just last year, the Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA) relaunched their website with a fresh look and new content. The main goal of this refresh? Building a one-stop library of resources that not only benefit home and business owners but also helps contractors. To talk about the website and the resources available on it, Karen Edwards hosted Renee Ramey for an episode of MetalCast.
With the redesign of the website, one of MRA’s big goals was helping their contractors connect with local homeowners and leads. Renee explained, “At the end of the day, our ultimate goal is to provide the homeowners with enough information to get them to take the next step. And that next step is typically identifying and reaching out to a local professional... So that connection to a local contractor, installer is very important.”
On their website, there are a variety of ways that MRA promotes this connection. One way is their directory of contractor profiles. Renee shared, “As a member, the website now becomes a huge value add. You get a profile that's not gated anymore, so you're visible to homeowners. We've expanded the profiles that you have as a member on the MRA website so you can include pictures, you can include all your locations, you can include the types of metal roofing you provide, overall just more information.” This creates an incredible library of contractors and professionals for homeowners to explore.
In a similar vein, MRA is also equipping their members with tools and resources to promote metal with their clients. Renee explained, “We encourage our members to utilize any of the infographics we have. We have a well of information that our members can utilize to take out to their local market, to their homeowners in their area and promote them.” This toolkit includes infographics, data, promotions, social media posts and more. Not only does this help that individual contractor in their sales process, but it also raises home and building owners' awareness and interest in the metal industry.
Ultimately, MRA’s website has become an incredible source of information and resources for those inside and outside the roofing industry. Renee summed it up, sharing, “We want the homeowner to not just know about metal roofing, which is important, but we want them to know to ask the right questions, to make sure they get the right product that's going to last for three to four times longer than asphalt and that's going to perform in a hurricane. And we want to equip our members to help them with that.”
