Sherwin-Williams developed their MetalVue program with the goal of helping manufacturers and contractors sell more metal roofs to home and building owners. Over the years since its original development, they have continued to integrate and add features to the program in order to keep helping distributors, contractors and installers succeed with metal. For this episode of MetalCast, Karen Edwards got the chance to talk to Christian Zimprich, the MetalVue sales director; Junny Lee, the MetalVue market segment manager; and Chris Morris, a MetalVue partner with The Stonegate Group about how the program has grown.
MetalVue was originally started over five years ago. Christian shared a bit of the program’s history, “Our initial concept was this Roofing Passport program that then evolved into this overall MetalVue concept, with Roofing Passport as one of the programs included in it. At its core MetalVue is a suite of tools, resources, capabilities and partners that we can bring to contractors/manufacturers in the space to help them address some pain points that have historically existed. Basically, creating a value chain that supports metal roofing.”
That value chain includers everything from a comprehensive training program to help you sell more metal (in partnership with Grosso Sales Academy) to easy estimation that allows you to quote a project, make a bid and order materials all in the same place. Chris gave an example of what you can do with MetalVue, “A great feature we have is the one click estimation process. For this, Roofing Passport uses an integration with EagleView to take the latitude and longitude of the roof a contractor is working on and create an estimate for that roof... A lot of times you can get down to the foot, we're talking sub-inch. From there, you can have that ultimate confidence when you're going to present that estimate or create your bid.”
Today, that suite of products is continually being updated and grown. In just the last year, Sherwin-Williams announced a refresh to the Roofing Passport program. Junny explained, “At Sherwin-Williams, one of the driving pillars of our culture is about continuous improvement. So we take into account all the feedback we receive from our customers, good or bad, positive/negative feedback. That’s what drove us to refresh the Roofing Passport interface.” With this refresh, the Sherwin-Williams team made it much easier to manage your projects and jobs through Roofing Passport.
