MetalVue Navigating Metal Roofing Industry

As the metal industry grows, it can be challenging to find the right elements you need to elevate your business. The MetalVue Dealer’s Portal helps contractors identify areas of growth and implement changes for success! 

In a MetalTalk™ webinar, Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Dominic Caminata and Mark MacDonald to talk about the MetalVue Dealer’s Portal and the benefits it can offer industry professionals looking to elevate their business profits and success.  

Dominic is the owner and founder of Grosso University. Founded in 2019, he had one goal in its creation, “[I wanted to] make one of the single greatest sales training and business coaching consulting companies in the history of the home improvement industry.” Today, Grosso University offers customers live training sessions and partners with companies such as Sherwin-Williams

Mark began his career in a service space of the industry and then moved into aerospace, primarily working in management. From there, he got into the coatings industry with Valspar, who are leading supplier of coal coatings in the United States. After Valspar was acquired by Sherwin-Williams, Mark described, “That acquisition took our program to a whole different level, because Sherwin-Williams is the largest supplier of coatings on the planet.” 

The Dealer’s Portal is a part of the larger Sherwin-Willaims' MetalVue program. Mark explained, “MetalVue is a series of service software and training that allows the contractor to have confidence through their entire workflow.” This program came from a realization that the current industry is incredibly fractured, meaning there are thousands of manufacturers to choose from, and it can be difficult to get the quality service a contractor wants. On the other hand, it can be hard for these manufacturers to get their names out there. The MetalVue program streamlines a lot of industry processes by connecting contractors to reliable manufacturers, saving the people on both sides money and time. 

Grosso University was brought into the fold because of their expertise in the sales side of the industry. Mark expressed the importance of the partnership between the two companies, “Without Grosso University, we wouldn't have the platform that we have today to bring that value because it's got to be scalable.” 

 That platform is the Dealer’s Portal, which is an online library that outlines the different areas that a contractor can access through the MetalVue program. Dominic explained, “Metal roofing contractors will find video interviews of every contractor and vendor who is involved with MetalVue, with a detailed explanation of exactly how their service or technology can help them.” 

The program was designed to provide support to contractors and industry professionals who work with metal. The portal also acts as an easy access point for users to better navigate the various resources available that can help elevate their sales and business practices. Dominic elaborated, “Whether contractors need support with marketing, sales, production, business operations, we wanted to make sure they could get all their difficult questions answered and select what they need to take their metal roofing business to the next level in the Dealer’s Portal.”
