Metal Sales as Effortless as Painting by Numbers

Grosso Painting by Numbers

By Dani Sheehan.

Unleash your full potential when you have the right resources. Backed by manufacturers and industry experts, MetalVue and its partners can help you create a long-lasting career selling metal roofing.

Your sales team is really only as good as your installation team. That’s why Dominic Caminata, co-founder of Grosso University, has teamed up with Sherwin-Williams' MetalVue Program and taken the metal industry by storm. In a recent MetalCast episode, Heidi J. Ellsworth sits down with Dom to discuss this partnership and how contractors can access the necessary tools for selling and installing metal roofs in a growing industry.

Dom was excited when he first learned of the MetalVue program and the support it provides contractors from the lead generation and sales all the way through to installation. Throughout his career, he’s found that installation is the biggest roadblock to success. He tells Heidi, “It was the same playbook over and over. Basically, we would get this new roofing system introduced to our company. I would train my sales team in how to sell it in the home. We would go out there, absolutely dominate the sales board, selling this left and right and all of a sudden, we'd have this eight-month backlog in production.” With MetalVue, contractors have all the resources they need from start to finish and he can work on building what he calls “the most dynamite sales army this industry has ever seen.”

Most recently Dom’s been working with MCS influencer John Sheridan to put together the Metal Roofing Academy. Initially it began as an idea to create a few sales training videos for contractors and sales professionals, but Dom says, “what I ended up doing is creating pretty much a 25 video training series, the most detailed video course I’ve ever built in the history of my life.” With such a comprehensive training program, he describes it as a paint by numbers for the metal industry.

“Here’s the color with the right number. You can make masterpieces, replicatable and duplicatable. But literally from the moment [contractors] wake up in the morning, to the moment they close the sale, everything in between, I wanted them to have access to the training on everything that they would need to make a long-lasting career in sales, selling metal roofing.”
