This year is Drexel Metals’ 40th anniversary, and one way they are celebrating is by promoting their Drexel Metals Plus rewards program. In this MetalTalk episode, Karen Edwards discussed this exciting program with Brian McLaughlin, national sales manager of Drexel Metals and director of associations at Carlisle Architectural Metals (CAM).
Drexel Metals Plus is an exclusive partnership program for a select group of metal roofing manufacturers across the country who are committed to fabricating and installing Drexel systems with the highest quality and expertise. Membership provides legitimization for regional manufacturers, rewarding Drexel’s most loyal and successful customers.
"Our strategy has always been, at the core, to support regionalized fabrication,” Brian stated. “It's easy to sell coil, but it's hard to provide support, to provide solutions, to provide value, and we've always focused on that support and value. Instead of having a large factory where we fabricate our own panels and deliver them to a job site, we've always done the support through our regional manufacturing network, and we build our business around that.”
Some of the benefits members receive include exclusive access to Drexel programs, certification and software; exclusive warranties for products and services; and co-branded merchandise and literature for legitimacy and marketing.
“We are the back-office support when it comes to testing and engineering the technical resources, the marketing resources, the training. Everything that a company needs, we are that support so that they can compete with other companies,” Brian explained. “Our mentality has always been, ‘How do we grow the customer's business?’ Because if we can grow their business, guess what? We grow our business.”
Drexel Metals Plus includes three different membership types: Elite Distributor, Authorized Roll-Forming Fabricator and Certified Installer. Each branch has unique requirements, and customers must be invited to join.
“We're looking for businesses that have the same mentality that Drexel Metals has, good quality in the marketplace, a great service, a great name, businesses that would value the partnership,” Brian shared. “We use the word ‘partnership’ a lot because that's really what we're looking for. We want something to be mutually beneficial — we gain value, they gain value — but we're really looking for the best of the best in each market.”
Being part of this exclusive program means having a partner you can trust to take your business’s growth and success seriously.
“For us, it's about creating the standard,” Brian added. “A really important part of Drexel Metals Plus is that we want to protect our customers. We want to make sure we have quality at the end of the day, because if you don't have quality, what do you have?”
